The Boyne Mill, Drogheda, Co Louth.

This roughly 6.5-acre site is located on the edge of the centre of Drogheda, one of the largest towns in Ireland

Located about halfway along the Dublin-Belfast Economic Corridor, just off the M1 and only 25 minutes from Dublin Airport, this site, owned by SilverOak Greenhills Ltd, is Co. Louth’s most important industrial heritage site. For over 60 years, the stone-built linen mill and its three associated structures was the biggest centre of employment in Drogheda. The historic mill and other structures, including a brick chimney stack, are ‘protected structures’. Together they form the backbone of this imaginative scheme, which envisions a vibrant and extensive live-work campus in this strategic location.

The current planning consent includes:

- 64 apartments in two blocks to the rear of the protected stone mill.

- A 120-bed hotel, located in the two-story former mill building. Next to it, adjacent to the brick chimney stack, will be a feature restaurant and bar.

- A visitor centre, craft food centre and weekend market, all located in the courtyard in front of the hotel.

- A generous “Enterprise Building” (in orange in the schematic below), comprising about 10,124 square meters (approx. 110,000 square feet) including some ground-floor retail space. This is likely to be occupied by a health centre or a third-level college.
